Born as son of the composer Bernhard Rövenstrunck and his wife Mathilde. 1952 first interest in music, especially in composition. Basic lessons with his father. 1956 violin studies with violinist Dora von Möllendorf in Stuttgart. The piano became the main instrument in 1959. Up to 1969 lessons with pianist Jaime Padrós.
In 1968 studies in composition (with his father) and piano (with Jaime Padrós) at the "Hochschule für Musik" in Trossingen (Germany). In 1969 contuniuation of the studies at the "Staatl. Hochschule für Musik" in West Berlin; composition with Prof. Günther. Two special prices for outstanding work. In 1974 an illness made the continuation of the studies impossible.
1975: Working as a jazz pianist. Moving to the Netherlands (1979).
In 1981 return to the composition. In the following years he composed the 1st piano sonata and about 900 short piano pieces. In 2000 first performances by a.o. Rene Berman, cello and
Kees Wieringa, piano. Return to Germany 2001.
Since 2004 he composes various major works.
