Béla Lajos was born 1929 in Hungary and studied music in his hometown Szeged. From 1950 on he played the flute in the orchestra of the National Theatre and the Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1952 he also worked as flute teacher at the National Music School in Békéscsaba.
Political circumstances made him leave Hungary. We went to Vienna and studied with professor Resnicek. He was one of the founders of the "Philharmonia Hungarica" and played with the orchestra for more than 20 years. Together with the orchestra he did numerous recordings like for instance the complete Haydn symphonies. 1960 Lajos came to Germany.
Béla Lajos is also a painter. His works deal with the transformation of musical impulses like form and sound into painting. Exhibitons in Neuss, Kleve and Budapest.
